Founder Members

GURC was founded in the mists of time by Richard “the Rambler” and Martin”the Mapreader”. Both the epitome of the Victorian gentleman, their inaugaral walk was from Island Gardens in Her Majesty’s Docks to the now defunct European restaurant Pollo, (named after the Greek God, one assumes) on Old Compton Street in London’s fashionable Soho District. Fellows
A founder member may appoint a GURC member as fellow in recognition of their services to Urban Rambling. A member is required to complete a graduation ramble under the ever-watchful eye of the founder member.
“Greek” Alex was elected Fellow after his excellent Little Venice-Limehouse work; “Welsh” Alex was awarded a fellowship after tracking the source of the Pool to Shirley on the Ravensbourne/Pool ramble.
Associate Members

The rank and file of GURC. Members may be proposed by a current member on their second or subsequent ramble, to be considered by the Fellows and Founder Members in due course.
Probationer
Ramblers yet to attain the status of associate members, but who have taken part in at least one ramble, are considered Probationers.
Guests
Ladies and children must, of course, be signed in by a member as a guest.
