Gosh, this is jolly exciting. I like the faintly olde-tyme template stylings. Sorry I didn’t make the 2007 inaugural, but frankly 11.30 at wherever the hell you were meeting seemed a little ambitious. At this rate I won’t manage to partake in a Ramble until the clocks go forward.
One other thing: I always thought it was the Gentlemen’s Urban Ramblers Club.
Ha! I always thought it was the Gentlemen’s Urban Wrangling Club! I was wondering why we didn’t have more arguments! Apart from the ongoing one about Kimon’s taste in pubs of course. Anyway walking it is. Why the hell not?
The Gentlemen’s Urbane Wrangling Club doesn’t have arguments: it hosts ambulatory discussion, or pedeconferencing, if you prefer.
And I’m sure not even Kimon could approve, if his too-easily-won approval is the thrust of the pub-taste question, of the pub Martin and I found in Bellingham.
But £1.57 a pint? No Gentleman would turn his nose up at that…
